August 2015 Stitch Fix Review

I took a little break from Stitch Fix due to our recent move, but my latest one just arrived! I wouldn’t say this one was love at first sight, but after trying on each item and looking to pieces I already own to figure out wearability, I think it’s a pretty good fix. I’ve also started looking for part-time work, so I’ve been keeping that in mind when looking at clothes – would this be something appropriate for an office setting? Most of these could be worn to work.

Pixley – Ivy Petal Print Blouse $58

Fun2Fun – Janina Split Neck Tulip Sleeve Blouse $44

Laila Jayde – Keene Knit Top $48

Renee C – Porsha Swing Dress $44

Octavia – Henry Birds on Branch Infinity Scarf $28

So here are my thoughts: I LOVE the scarf, it’s so soft and the color is one of my favorites! The bird print is really cute too.

The swing dress is SO comfortable, it literally barely feels like clothes, but it’s also very thin. I will probably wear it around the house, or as a swim cover-up. I also tried it on with a longer vest, from a previous fix, which looked good too.

The Laila Jayde top looks better in person, and the hubby liked it.

I like the sleeve and hem details on the Fun2Fun red top, and it can be worn on date night or tucked into work pants or a pencil skirt.

Lastly, the Pixley Ivy top wasn’t my favorite when I first saw it, but once I paired it with dark jeans and fun sneakers I liked it a lot more. I think it would also be great for the office.

Cost – after the 25% discount (for keeping all 5 items) they average out to $29.30 per piece. Genniva, my stylist for all 7 fixes, has continued to take my Pinterest board into account when choosing my items and I’ve been so happy with her choices for me!

I’ve been seeing more ladies trying Stitch Fix lately, what are your thoughts? Would you like a personal stylist to help build your wardrobe?

June 2015 Stitch Fix Review

20150617_195953_resized

Another month has come and gone, now it is Stitch Fix time again! I dare say this one could be the best yet. Almost all of the pieces are casual enough to wear out and about, but could also transition to work if/when I return to working full-time.

My request this time around was for more color and pattern, as I’ve come to realize most of my clothes are solids and stripes. I also mentioned wanting a denim jacket or vest. After opening the note from my stylist, Genniva, I knew right away that she listened to my previous feedback:

“Hey Heidi! I can’t believe I haven’t sent you any fun prints, yet! I’m going all prints today!”

I’m definitely pleased that I’ve been able to keep Genniva since my very first Fix, although if she keeps up the good work I’ll be in trouble! OK, here we go…

Sweet Rain – Hampton Split Neck Blouse $44

(This top has little abstract triangle shapes all over!)

Just USA  – Anjuli Dark Wash Denim Jacket $58

(Jacket has a small amount of distressed detail)

Gilli – Alina Maxi Skirt $58

(Same jacket)

Pixley – Nelda Halter Blouse $44

(Sorry no picture w/o jacket – need proper undergarment!)

(I can already see this jacket getting TONS of use)

Skies are Blue – McFarlen Spaghetti Strap Blouse $38

Verdict: Yikes! Kept it all – AGAIN! I can’t help it, Genniva is nailing it. I’m so happy she listened to my request for fun colorful prints and a versatile denim jacket. Now for the breakdown: after the 25% discount (for keeping all 5 items) each item averages out to $32.30.

Papermoon – Rosen Sheer Detail Blouse $44

(These pictures don’t do this top justice, very feminine and the top sheer part has tiny white polka dots)

Liverpool – Mira Skinny Pant $68

(These are like a stretch legging with back pockets, but no front button or zip)

Pixley – Kathy Striped Fit & Flare Dress $68

(I feel like this dress can be dressed up or down for lots of use)

20150519_205250_resized

I need one of those stretchy thick belts for this!

Vest from previous fix

Verdict: I kept it all – again! My stylist, Genniva, is getting too good! Certain things, like the necklace, I never would have chosen for myself, but I always think other people look great wearing similar ones! Now I have my own to play with. I had pinned the t-shirt on Pinterest, so getting that was a plus. And of course, who can’t use a stretchy pair of black pants for all seasons!? Since I kept the whole box, after the 25% discount, each item averages out to $36.30. Not too shabby!

Have you tried Stitch Fix yet? Do you think this box was a keeper?

March Stitch Fix Review

IMG_1738

As promised, my March Stitch Fix delivery was waiting on my doorstep when I got home this afternoon!

IMG_1736

It feels like Christmas every time I open the box and see the goodies wrapped in tissue paper. The box also contains a prepaid envelope to send back any items I’m not love with.

First 2 items:

Brixon Ivy – Bixby Clover Print Blouse $64

Just Black – Dean Ankle Zip Skinny Jean $78

IMG_1782

IMG_1783

IMG_1789

IMG_1790

IMG_1744

IMG_1746

Verdict: I’m torn! I love the look of this blouse and the cute pearl detail on the cuff, but I’m not sure how practical this would be with a toddler. I’m also unsure about the jeans. The ankle zip is a nice modern detail, but I’m stuck on the price…

Next item:

Loveappella – Evie Draw String Funnel Neck Sweatshirt $64

IMG_1761 IMG_1762

Verdict: I love this! It’s like a sweater & sweatshirt mixed in one; totally comfy, but more stylish than a basic hoodie. It’s light weight enough to wear through the Spring, but still wearable with layers into the Fall. Keep!

Next item:

41Hawthorn – Breyson Pleated Tab-Sleeve Blouse $58

IMG_1774 IMG_1776

Verdict: This one isn’t for me. Although I do love the color, the cut is a bit boxy. The neckline is also too low on me and doesn’t stay flat enough to avoid a wardrobe malfunction. Going back!

Final item:

Pixley – Jakobe Chevron Print Maxi Dress $78

IMG_1764 IMG_1765

Verdict: I wanted to love this dress! I love the colors and pattern, but it really bothers me that the pattern doesn’t line up at the seams. Also, the elastic above the waste isn’t very comfortable. And, oh boy, is it clingy in the rear!! Going back!

Thanks for looking, I hope this Stitch Fix review was helpful. I’m not a spokesperson for Stitch Fix, but I do receive a small credit if you decide to try the service using my referral link!

What should I do about the white blouse and those jeans!?
